Why SAKAN Exists

I moved five times in less than 18 months.

I packed, searched for weeks, viewed countless places, dealt with incompatible flatmates and uncomfortable situations, and kept starting over.

Then my landlord sent a potential buyer to view the home I was living in. I worried I’d have to move and start the search all over again, with almost no housing options.

That fear and instability pushed me to ask a bigger question: Was this only happening to me?

It wasn’t.

I'm Yasmeen Tarek, the founder of SAKAN and a business developer with over 10 years of professional experience.

I've bootstrapped SAKAN for three & a half years using my own money and resources, driven by one practical mission: help women find housing in a safe, fast, and affordable manner.

For me, SAKAN is about more than finding a place to live. It's about giving women better information, more options, and greater confidence when making housing decisions!
